Osasuna defeats Ipswich Town 2-1 in second preseason friendly

Club Atlético Osasuna defeated Ipswich Town 2-1 on Wednesday night at JobServe Community Stadium in its second preseason friendly. Goals by midfielder Miguel Auría and forward Raúl Moro secured the victory for Los Rojillos in the opening match of their two-game tour of England.

Osasuna took the lead in the fifth minute, capitalizing on a quick counterattack. Goalkeeper Alex Palmer parried a shot from forward Kike Barja, and Auría reacted first to slot the rebound into the net.

Despite the early advantage, Osasuna continued to press forward in search of a second goal but could not find the finishing touch. Ipswich attempted to disrupt the Navarrese side with an aggressive press, yet the hosts struggled to create clear opportunities against goalkeeper Sergio Herrera and the Osasuna back line.

Ipswich equalized 10 minutes into the second half. After Aitor Fernández made a save on the home side’s first shot on target, forward Chuba Akpom collected a cross and finished from close range to make it 1-1.

Osasuna responded well, regaining control of possession and creating sustained pressure. The decisive moment came after a corner kick, when Moro struck a powerful right-footed shot into the top corner beyond goalkeeper Kayne Van Oevelen to restore the visitors’ lead.

Osasuna will continue its preseason schedule Saturday against Norwich City at Carrow Road. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. CET (3 p.m. BST, 10 a.m. ET), and the match will be streamed in Spain on OsasunaTV.
