Ramis: "It was a hard-fought match, but we are still lacking in what I want with the ball"

Osasuna head coach Luis Miguel Ramis spoke to the media at El Sadar after a scoreless draw against Levante in his first match in charge of Los Rojillos. "It was a mature, hard-fought game within the limits of our strength, but we are still far from what I want with the ball, especially in terms of fluidity," Ramis said. "We were solid in our structure but not in our ball movement. Even so, we created enough chances to win, and defensively the team stayed together for most of the match, which is very good because it will give us many opportunities going forward."

The Catalan coach expanded on his thoughts about the game: "I like keeping a clean sheet because it shows good defensive organization. In the final minutes, we stretched ourselves a bit, trying to push forward without much energy left, and Levante found some spaces between our lines. But overall, I am happy with our defensive performance. Offensively, we lacked fluidity, and the field conditions—there was a lot of sand—did not help. We needed a bit more confidence and boldness, but especially at the start of each half, we created enough chances to win."

Ramis said he is "happy with the team's effort, we have no injuries, and we saw a lot of what we've been working on. At no point did we leave ourselves exposed. The opponent's only real chances were a shot off the post in the first half and two set pieces after our own mistakes, while we had four clear opportunities from Moncayola, Budimir and Jorge, and their goalkeeper played very well." He also emphasized, "We have to improve. We have the quality and positioning to control the game more at times, but we also have the option to play vertically and take advantage of players whose strengths are running into space."
