Luis Miguel Ramis: "Tomorrow is a great opportunity"

Osasuna head coach Luis Miguel Ramis spoke at a news conference ahead of Saturday’s match against Espanyol at El Sadar. Kickoff is set for 4:15 p.m. CET (3:15 p.m. BST, 10:15 a.m. ET). Ramis discussed the importance of the game, keys to victory and Espanyol's style of play.

"We have to make these games count. They are a good team, and if you don't do things right, you can get yourself in trouble. Our goal is to avoid that and come out on top. Tomorrow, we have a great opportunity and a big reward ahead. Earning 10 out of 15 points would be ideal, and we need to focus on that," Ramis said.

The coach continued with his expectations for the team. For Ramis, it is important that his team stays bold and continues improving the work they have done throughout the season.

"They have to be bold and excited about the game because every game brings something new. They know that, especially when we play at our stadium. The objective is for the players to be bold and hopeful, with clear ideas—which they have—and to enjoy themselves with their talent. That way, everyone will enjoy it, too.

"Defensively, we will do well—I am certain. Yes, there might be some mistakes because the opposition has talent and is demanding, but our players have shown that when the team is well-organized and puts its heart and soul into it—which we do—things tend to work out well. Offensively, we have to improve on what we did last time. We've seen film showing the team becoming more organized, and we're showing signs of improvement. We have to bring all that together to become a more complete team," Ramis mentioned.

Regarding Espanyol, Ramis highlighted their passing game and speed on the flanks.

"They have a more organized passing game than our previous opponents. They are fast on the flanks, press high, and are aggressive—a team that has improved since I was there and has consolidated itself in the Primera División. They have a good team with options and resources. We have to play well and stay balanced to give them as few options as possible," Ramis said.
