Osasuna Signs Forward Romain Del Castillo

The Navarrese club has signed French forward Romain Del Castillo from Stade Brestois 29 to a two-year contract with an option for a third season.

Club Atlético Osasuna and Stade Brestois 29 have agreed to the transfer of forward Romain Del Castillo. Osasuna will pay 1 million euros for the transfer, with an additional 450,000 euros possible in variables. Brest will retain 15% of any surplus from a potential future sale. Del Castillo will sign a two-year contract with Osasuna, with an option for a third year based on team and individual performance. The contract includes a 10-million-euro buyout in LaLiga EA Sports. Del Castillo underwent a medical Tuesday morning at Clínica Universidad de Navarra and reported to head coach Luis Miguel Ramis at the Tajonar Sports Complex the same day. The official presentation will take place in the coming days.

Romain Del Castillo (born March 29, 1996, in Lyon, France) joins Osasuna after establishing himself as one of Ligue 1’s key attackers over the past five seasons. In 151 appearances with Brest, he scored 30 goals and added 31 assists. As a professional, he has made 220 appearances in Ligue 1. He has represented Stade Rennes and Brest in European competitions, playing in 11 UEFA Champions League matches (four with Rennes, seven with Brest), nine Europa League matches, and two Conference League matches, all with Rennes.

Del Castillo came up through the ranks at Olympique Lyonnais, making his professional debut at age 19. While at Lyon, he was loaned to Bourg-Péronnas and Nîmes before joining Stade Rennes, where he spent four seasons. His strong performances earned him 10 call-ups to the France under-21 national team. Del Castillo rose to prominence at Brest, helping the team qualify for the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League and reach the knockout stage, where they were eliminated by eventual champion Paris Saint-Germain.

Del Castillo is known for his technique and ability to strike with both feet. After playing the first two league matches this season with Brest, he now joins Osasuna to provide quality and help the club reach its goals.
