Osasuna signs forward Jonathan Dubasin from Sporting Gijón
La Seu d'Urgell native signs four-year deal with €40 million buyout clause
Club Atlético Osasuna and Real Sporting reached an agreement for the transfer of forward Jonathan Dubasin, the club announced Monday. Osasuna will pay a €4 million fee, with other payments linked to the club remaining in the top tier. Sporting will retain a percentage of any future transfer. Dubasin, a winger, will sign through June 30, 2030, with a €40 million buyout clause in LaLiga EA Sports.
Dubasin, 24, is an attacking player known for his speed and versatility. He has played as both a winger and a striker. Last season with Sporting, he scored 17 goals—16 in LaLiga Hypermotion and one in the Copa del Rey—and provided four assists in 37 league and one cup match. In his first season with the Asturian club, he played 37 league games and two Copa del Rey matches, tallying eight goals and nine assists.
Dubasin holds both Spanish and Belgian passports. He began playing football in his hometown, La Seu d'Urgell, before joining F.C. Andorra, Atlètic Segre and Girona F.C. as a youth. He joined Girona at age 18 and was loaned to U.E. Figueres, U.E. Costa Brava and U.D. Logroñés, playing in Tercera, Segunda B and Primera RFEF, respectively. He then moved to Albacete Balompié in Segunda División, scoring 11 goals in 43 matches and appearing in the promotion playoffs. Dubasin later joined FC Basel in Switzerland before loan spells at Real Oviedo and Real Sporting, the latter eventually making the move permanent.
Dubasin will reinforce Osasuna’s right flank with his speed and movement, giving head coach Luis Miguel Ramis another option in attack. He will join the team during its preseason camp in England and will be officially presented after returning.
