Luis Miguel Ramis: "Getafe is a tough opponent; we will have to offset their energy and make few mistakes"

Osasuna head coach Luis Miguel Ramis spoke to the media Sunday ahead of Monday's matchup against Getafe at El Sadar. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CET (6:30 p.m. BST, 1:30 p.m. ET). During his press conference, Ramis discussed the team's need to maintain positive momentum following Thursday's victory over Celta and the strategy for defeating Getafe.

"I hope we can get the win; it would be very helpful to have three positive results," Ramis said. "But first we have to play the game, do it well, adjust as we see fit, and as long as we are doing those things, we will get closer to the desired result."

Ramis highlighted Getafe's progress in recent years, which has led them to a European competition this season.

"[Getafe] is a well-established team in this league; they have a clear identity and concepts that have worked for many seasons—similar to Celta, but with a different structure. The players know what the coach wants from them every match, and this has worked so well that they are now playing in Europe.

"That said, they are going to be a tough opponent, with characteristics we need to offset. We have to play a near-perfect game to get the result. They are used to winning duels and taking advantage of those wins. They are intuitive, strong, and make few mistakes. So, we have to play with minimal errors, offset their energy, and, with the ball, create situations where we can be more threatening," Ramis said.

When asked about the importance of Thursday's win, Ramis said it is crucial because it reinforces the team's efforts.

"Getting those points is important; it reinforces our work. Regardless of the score, we needed to feel that we created enough chances to fight for the game and get closer to what we want," Ramis said. "Winning games is not easy, even when playing against 10 men. The other day, it seemed like everything changed after the red card, and it did, but you have to remember the game still needs to be played, and the opponent tied it up quickly. What we achieved against a European team, established in La Liga and with a clear mindset, was not easy. The win is important, but we need to stay grounded because there are still many games left."
