Osasuna Completes Final Training Session of the Week

Club Atlético Osasuna lost 2-0 to Real Sociedad in a practice match at the Zubieta Sports Complex on Thursday afternoon. The game, held during the FIFA International break, featured a brace from Real Sociedad forward Jon Karrikaburu.
Osasuna started strong, creating four clear scoring opportunities, including a free kick by midfielder Rubén García and two attempts from midfielder Asier Osambela off corner kicks. However, Real Sociedad goalkeeper Unai Marrero thwarted all their attempts. The home side's first opportunity came when midfielder Arsen Zakharyan struck the post. In the 24th minute, Karrikaburu converted a pass from Mikel Goti to put Real Sociedad ahead. Just five minutes later, defender Aihen Muñoz initiated a counterattack, finding Karrikaburu again, who secured the lead for the hosts. Before halftime, Osasuna sought to narrow the gap with a through ball from García to forward Raúl García, but he was unsuccessful against Marrero.
Forward Kike Barja almost scored when his cross deflected off a defender and hit the post. Midway through the second half, Raúl García received a pass from midfielder Jon Moncayola, but Marrero was there to make another save. In the final minutes, Real Sociedad crafted a counterattack but did not extend their lead.
Osasuna will return to training on October 13 for an afternoon session at the Tajonar Sports Complex, starting at 6 p.m. The team is set to prepare for an upcoming match against Atlético de Madrid at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano on Saturday, October 18, with kickoff scheduled for 9 p.m. CET (8 p.m. BST/3 p.m. ET).
