Osasuna Completes Massanassa Reconstruction Project

The club has released a report showing how the money donated to help the Valencian city following DANA was used to rebuild some of its social places and sports complex

Club Atlético Osasuna has finalized its reconstruction efforts in Massanassa, Valencia, following the devastating DANA storm that struck the city in October 2024. The project, which aimed to restore public and sports facilities, was accomplished with a budget of €452,139.

In an effort to maintain transparency, the club released a comprehensive report detailing how funds donated by members, fans, employees, and civic organizations were utilized. A total of 9,490 individuals and 426 entities contributed, including significant donations from Osasuna and its former head coach, Vicente Moreno. The club's main sponsor, Kosner, and Saltoki, a leading distributor of plumbing, electrical, and construction materials, also supported the initiative. Noteworthy contributions include a donation from the Unión de Agricultores y Ganaderos de Navarra (Union of Farmers and Ranchers of Navarre) and €11,820 raised through the Club Atlético Osasuna Christmas Lottery, where 1,970 participants opted to donate their winnings.

The total funds raised by Osasuna amounted to €450,755, which was disclosed in February. The reconstruction, which slightly exceeded the initial budget, saw the club covering the remaining €1,384.

The project, spearheaded by Osasuna in collaboration with the Massanassa City Council, involved the extensive restoration of sporting and social complexes heavily affected by flooding that reached heights of 2.5 meters (8 feet, 2 inches).

The reconstruction efforts included the removal of debris, cleaning of all facilities, and a variety of renovations: reconstruction of the sports hall with a new court, upgraded carpentry, painting, and electrical installations; comprehensive renovation of locker rooms; repaving of the municipal theater, including new acoustic ceilings, electrical systems, and climate control; rehabilitation of swimming pools and treatment plants with modern equipment; new padel courts; reconstruction of barbecue areas; and reinforced and painted perimeter fencing around the sports center.

The work was conducted intensively and within a short timeframe, ensuring the sports facilities were ready for summer and reinstating the town's cultural and social activities—a critical priority set by the Town Council for a community affected by the storm.
