Vicente Moreno: "The fans have stood by us, the club is a family, and they all deserve this joy"

Osasuna head coach speaks to the press following the draw in Vitoria

Osasuna head coach Vicente Moreno addressed the media following his team's draw at Mendizorrotza.

"I'm disappointed—we wanted the players to have the reward they deserved," said Moreno. "The fans have stood by us, the club is a family, and they all deserve this joy."

He added, "I hope that goal goes in next season, that we win on goal difference, and that we make it to Europe. I can assure you I'll be watching closely and will be the first to applaud if it happens."

The Massanassa native offered his analysis of the match: "We lacked precision. [Goalkeeper Antonio] Sivera was excellent when we had our chances. We were tense, but we had opportunities. I won't weigh in on whether the penalty they were awarded was fair or not, but we kept trying, we found the equalizer, and it's a shame we couldn't get more."

"We've put in a lot of work this season to be in the European race until the very end. We've missed out on goal difference, but it's been a great season," Moreno added.

Asked about the mood in the dressing room, Moreno said: "Expectations had been built—we were right there. To end up tied on points with Rayo and still miss out, of course, people are upset."

"These players feel the crest and suffer for their club and fans. That's football—thankfully, life always offers new opportunities, and we'll keep fighting for them," he concluded.
