Fundación Osasuna’s Football School Concludes New Edition at Pamplona Penitentiary Center
Men’s head coach Vicente Moreno and captain Sergio Herrera, women’s head coach Josu Domínguez and captain Josune Urdániz, and the club’s second vice-president, César Muniáin, closed this year’s edition of the program
Fundación Osasuna concluded a new edition of its football program at the Pamplona Penitentiary Center on Wednesday with a closing event featuring a panel discussion.
The session included coaches Vicente Moreno and Josu Domínguez, team captains Sergio Herrera and Josune Urdániz, and Club Atlético Osasuna second vice president César Muniáin. The discussion was the final activity for participants, who participated in five training sessions throughout March and April and competed in a friendly triangular tournament with Osasuna Veterans.
Since 2002, the initiative has been part of Fundación Osasuna’s sports and social activities program to support vulnerable groups and individuals at risk of social exclusion. Other projects include InterGOL, which serves adolescents under judicial supervision; FutboleANDO, designed for adults over 65; and Yo Juego en Osasuna, for individuals with disabilities. The Football School at the Penitentiary Center promotes social inclusion through sport, embodying the values of Club Atlético Osasuna: teamwork, effort and respect.
This year, 54 individuals — 42 men and 12 women — participated. The women’s unit joined the program for the second consecutive year, completing two 90-minute training sessions. The men’s unit involved 38 inmates, divided into two groups, who took part in five one-hour sessions and concluded with a friendly tournament against Osasuna Veterans.
Coaches Ignacio Martínez and Oier Zenigaonaindia led the men’s unit, while Estíbaliz del Río and Carmen Fresneda oversaw the women’s group.
