Vicente Moreno: "We played a very solid game"

The Osasuna head coach spoke at a press conference after earning a point at San Mamés.

Vicente Moreno addressed the media in the San Mamés press room following the goalless draw and stated:

"Our goal was to take all three points, but we also knew how difficult that would be in this stadium, against a team with Athletic's potential and their opportunity to move closer to the top teams. They made the most of that opportunity. It's true that we managed to win here once earlier this season, and although we couldn't secure the victory today, I believe we should value this point for the effort the players put in. It's not easy to take points here, and we've been searching for a win that hasn't come in recent matches. However, I see the players' effort every day, and I'm glad we could earn this point and keep a clean sheet—something we hadn't done in a long time. It's not a victory, but in a way, our fans who traveled here twice this season can leave feeling somewhat satisfied."

"We played a very solid game. We competed, put Athletic in trouble at certain moments, and had to withstand pressure ourselves—especially at the start of the second half, because when they press, they really press. We managed to overcome that situation, and toward the end, it seemed we had chances to score. I'm happy for everyone around us because I see how hard the players work and struggle when the results don't come as we'd like. They want to dedicate victories to our fans. I especially value this point because I believe the team competed in a difficult setting and gave their all in two consecutive matches against very physical opponents. We were right there, with a chance to win," the Massanassa native analyzed.
