Luis Miguel Ramis: "We are heading there with energy and are eager to get our first road win of the season"

The Rojillo gaffer addressed the media before Thursday's match against Celta.

Osasuna head coach Luis Miguel Ramis addressed reporters after Wednesday's training session as the team prepared to face Celta Vigo on Thursday, Aug. 27, at Abanca Balaídos Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. CET (2:30 p.m. ET). Ramis discussed the short turnaround between matches and emphasized the importance of executing the game plan and managing the quick transition.

"First, we have to focus on the game plan and our performance, and let those take us to victory. That requires energy, fresh legs, composure and sharpness, so there is a higher chance of seeing some changes. However, we are ready. I fully believe in the squad. Everyone is working hard, and we have been preparing for this match," Ramis said.

"There is no doubt we will create chances, and that is the goal. We are heading there with energy and are eager to get our first away win of the season," Ramis said.

Ramis, 54, was asked about Osasuna's road performances in recent seasons. He said he believes the team will deliver strong results on the road once they play with more freedom.

"We have to be confident and clear about what we want from this match, no matter the circumstances. Playing on the road shouldn't intimidate anyone. We're still somewhat restrained—not intentionally—because the intentions and physical data are good, but we need to loosen up a bit more. That applies whether we're at home or away. Once we achieve that and get the result we are pursuing, I am sure the players' mentality will shift," Ramis said.

On Celta, Ramis said the Galician side is a well-established and dangerous team that can threaten at any moment.

"Their structure, how they take the field, their positioning, and the fact they've worked with the same coach for some time—all of that gives them an edge when it comes to reading situations or making adjustments quickly during the game," Ramis said.

"They like to control the game and press, and they are confident in what they do, which becomes clear as the match progresses. The other day, it looked like Valencia was dominating for a while, but Celta responded well and regained control in the final stretch. They can punish any team because they have quality, structure, a clear idea, and they complement each other's movements. They know when and where to press, their strengths, and how to hurt opponents," Ramis said.
