A long and successful legacy
Jagoba Arrasate Elusondo, who has managed Osasuna in 256 matches, was born April 22, 1978, in Berriatua, Bizkaia. He joined the club in 2018 after coaching Real Sociedad and Numancia. In his first season, he led Osasuna to promotion to La Liga and a championship in Spain’s second division. Arrasate then guided the team to five comfortable stays in the top flight, with several milestones that became part of club history. The most notable was reaching the Copa del Rey final in the 2022-23 season, when, in addition to competing for the title in Seville, the team qualified for the UEFA Conference League. Osasuna’s return to European competition and its first-ever appearance in the Spanish Super Cup were among the highlights of Arrasate’s previous tenure.
After coaching Real Club Deportivo Mallorca in 68 matches, the Berriatua native returns to Osasuna, where he not only left a significant sporting legacy, but also built a reputation for character and values that resonated with fans. On Sunday, against Real Racing, supporters will once again see him on the home bench at El Sadar.
