Osasuna re-signs defender Iñigo Arguibide

The club and the homegrown player have agreed to a contract extension through June 30, 2030





Club Atlético Osasuna and defender Iñigo Arguibide have agreed to a contract extension through June 30, 2030. Although the club had the option to extend the contract for two seasons, both parties agreed to extend it for three seasons. The contract includes a 15 million euro buyout clause in LaLiga EA Sports. Next week, Arguibide will address the media in a news conference with sporting director José Antonio “Cata.”

Iñigo Arguibide Goñi (born April 19, 2005, in Huarte, Navarre) has started all seven matches this season, illustrating the important role one of Tajonar’s newest talents has earned in the first team. Arguibide began his football career in his hometown with Club Deportivo Huarte and Gazte Berriak before joining Osasuna. Before arriving at Tajonar, he excelled as a striker, then began to shine on the flanks at the Rojillo Academy, eventually transitioning to fullback. In this position, he developed with Osasuna Promesas and made his first-team debut at age 18, on Feb. 25, 2024, at Las Palmas (1-1). Last season, he alternated between Promesas and the first team. At just 21, he currently has the most minutes played for Osasuna at the start of the current LaLiga EA Sports season.
