Osasuna coach speaks to media after loss to Girona
Osasuna head coach Alessio Lisci spoke to the media after his team’s 1-0 loss to Girona. “It hurts more, but if I have to lose, I want to lose this way,” Lisci said. “We were very close to getting points, even very close to winning.”
Lisci said Osasuna created several clear chances but failed to convert. “We had very clear chances — very clear. You have to score them; there’s no other way,” he said. “We weren’t sharp in front of goal, and in Primera División you pay for that.”
Asked about the work ahead in a demanding week that includes a Copa del Rey match and a league game, the Italian coach stressed the need to reset. “We have to clear our heads. Fortunately, we playagain on Tuesday,” he said.
Lisci also emphasized the importance of the upcoming league match against Real Oviedo. “With today’s result, the standings are tight again,” he said. “We have to compete well in the Copa, because the match in Oviedo is crucial.”
