Osasuna Calls 22 Players for Season Finale Against Getafe
The Italian coach addresses the press after Valencia-Osasuna
Osasuna head coach Alessio Lisci spoke to the media following his team’s 1-0 defeat to Valencia and offered his analysis of the game.
"Valencia is a team that plays with a lot of intensity, especially at home, so it’s normal for them to press hard," Lisci said. "They played the kind of match we expected, even though they made some changes in their buildup play. They have a very clear playing style, and it was a well-contested match that was decided by a small detail which they were able to capitalize on. That’s just the way things are. They won, and when you score the goal, you deserve to win—there’s nothing more to it."
Lisci went on to reflect on the decisive nature of goals in soccer and the balance of opportunities in the game.
"Whoever scores the goal is always right. I think it was a match with very, very few chances. Maybe Valencia had a few more approaches, but there really weren’t any clear-cut opportunities. It was probably a 0-0 type of game. They did well to take advantage of the lapse in our goal kick and won. Soccer is about scoring goals—Valencia scored, we didn’t, so congratulations to them."
