Osasuna Calls 22 Players for Season Finale Against Getafe
Osasuna coach reflects on draw against Athletic Club
Osasuna head coach Alessio Lisci spoke to the media after his team drew 1-1with Athletic Club.
“We wanted to win, but when you can’t, you haveto value the draw because we played against a great team,” Lisci said. “We’restill unbeaten, which is important. It’s another point, and the fans can bevery proud of the team’s effort.”
Discussing the second half, the Italian coachcredited the opposition. “They did very well,” he said. “We wanted to keep thesame approach as in the first half — to be aggressive and push forward — but itwas hard to change from a mid-to-low block to a high block. When they droppedback, we weren’t able to push up and support each other the way we did in thefirst half.”
Lisci added that Osasuna defended well overall.“The team was organized defensively, and it’s a shame to concede from athrow-in. But you have to accept football the way it is,” he said.
Liscialso assessed Javi Galán’s first match with Osasuna. “I think he played verywell,” Lisci said. “There were a few moments where you can tell he doesn’tfully know his teammates yet, which is normal. But we’re very happy with hisperformance, both offensively and defensively.”
