Club Atlético Osasuna has re-signed goalkeeper Sergio Herrera through the 2027–28 season, the club announced today. The agreement extends the player's relationship with the club for two additional seasons.

As part of the new deal, Herrera's release clause in LaLiga EA Sports has increased from €14 million to €20 million. The goalkeeper is scheduled to address the media Tuesday at El Sadar, alongside the club's sporting director, Braulio Vázquez.

Sergio Herrera Pirón (born June 5, 1993, in Miranda de Ebro, Burgos) joined Osasuna in the summer of 2017 from Sociedad Deportiva Huesca, where he emerged as one of LaLiga SmartBank's standout goalkeepers. Prior to his time in Huesca, he developed in the Deportivo Alavés academy and later played for Club Deportivo Laudio and Sociedad Deportiva Amorebieta in Segunda B.

Since his arrival in Pamplona, Herrera has become a key figure for the rojillos in both Segunda División and LaLiga. He has made 230 official appearances for Osasuna, just two short of surpassing Javier Vicuña as the second-most-capped goalkeeper in club history. Only Roberto Santamaría, with 291 appearances, has played more — a record Herrera could break during this new contract period.

A charismatic presence on and off the field, Herrera's renewal is seen as a strategic move for the club's sporting project. He will remain with Osasuna for the next three seasons.
