Osasuna and SD Huesca play to a 0-0 draw

Navarrese and Aragonese defensive efforts proved challenging to defeat.

Fitero, Spain (Wednesday, July 24, 2024) – Club Atlético Osasuna and Sociedad Deportiva Huesca drew 0-0 at El Olmillo on Wednesday afternoon. Navarrese and Aragonese played to an even match where both backlines did their part to keep each other at bay.

The game started with forward Patrick Soko putting goalkeeper Aitor Fernández to the test when he tried from inside the box after a collective effort. After that play, Osasuna began to gain inches on the field and press Huesca's defense. First, defender Alejandro Catena headed a cross from defender Rubén Peña, but the attempt barely missed the post. As the half ended, Los Rojillos continued to push forward, but the Oscense defenders cut the efforts.

The Navarrese side led the charge in the second half as they won the midfield challenges. In the 49th minute, forward Jose Arnaiz got close to opening the scoreline when he fired from the center of the box, but his attempt went over the crossbar. Throughout the rest of the match, Osasuna led the possession and correct passes. In the game's dying minutes, forward Ante Budimir connected a volley, which went over the net.

Los Rojillos will be back in action tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. CET (6:30 p.m. BST/ 1:30 p.m. ET) to face C.D. Mirándes at Campo San Francisco in Tafalla, Spain.
