Tajonar, Spain (Tuesday, May 21, 2024) – Club Atlético Osasuna honored head coach Jagoba Arrasate for his work with the club’s academy during his six seasons leading the first team. Club president Luis Sabalza, academy director Ángel Alcalde and academy sporting director Patxi Puñal gave him a replica of the “Sentimiento Snetimendua” sculpture – representing the rojillo fan base outside El Sadar.

The recognition occurred after a talent optimization session in which Arrasate participated with every academy coach. The rojillo gaffer joined the U-15 and U-16 sides in his last week with the club, thus closing his circle with Tajonar.

“We wanted to thank Jagoba for everything he has done with the academy. What better way than to let him do it on the field with the kids? He has always helped our academy coaches. As president, I can only thank him for his work because, for our club, it is important to have a first-team head coach involved with the academy,” Sabalza said.

The two-hour session began with a video analysis. Following the video portion, the 46-year-old coach helped the three groups on Tajonar’s H1 field. During the session, he worked with other coaches, such as Puñal, Pablo Orbaiz, David Bandera, and Gorka Chocarro.

“We wanted to thank him for always being open to our coaches and players. We are grateful for his involvement and dedication to our formative project and for allowing first-team players to join our sessions, which was crucial for our players. Lastly, we want to highlight his trust in homegrown players, which makes the work everyone does at the academy feel validated,” Alcalde affirms.
