Osasuna joins the Union of European Clubs (UEC) Executive Board for the second consecutive year

The rojillo entity remains in the leadership body of an association seeking the destiny of European soccer is not exclusively in the hands of clubs with more significant economic potential

Pamplona/Brussels (Wednesday, April 24, 2024)—Club Atlético Osasuna joins the Union of European Clubs (UEC) Executive Board for the second consecutive year. The UEC is an international organization founded in April 2023 to provide a voice to the 92% of professional football clubs who today go unheard. Through this Union, the aim is to democratize decisions in European football, giving each club a vote and preventing the destiny of European football from falling solely into the hands of the clubs with the most significant economic potential on the continent.

The UEC is composed of 141 clubs from 25 national leagues. Osasuna is one of the 16 members of the association's Executive Committee, which, among its activities, has held meetings with the European Union and different football institutions to promote solidarity among clubs and establish standards of good governance, competitive balance, integrity, and financial sustainability.

Osasuna's CEO, Fran Canal, will again represent the club in the UEC. Among the proposals Osasuna has brought for discussion at this forum is promoting a fairer competition by establishing a salary limit for clubs, as in competitions such as the NBA.
