Pamplona (Saturday, March 16, 2024) – Club Atlético Osasuna (10-6-13, 36 points) fell 4-2 against Real Madrid (22-6-1, 72 points) at El Sadar on Saturday afternoon. Forward Ante Budimir and midfielder Iker Muñoz scored for los rojillos.  

The scoring began early when forward Vinicius Jr. stole the ball in the midfield to open up the scoreline. Shortly after, Osasuna bounced back and tied the game when Budimir collected a pass from defender Jorge Herrando following a corner kick. In the 15th minute, defender Jesús Areso tried to tie the match from a distance, but goalkeeper Andriy Lunin saved the shot. However, three minutes later, defender Dani Carvajal broke the tie, firing a volley inside the box. As the first half ended, forward Jose Arnaiz tried to level the score when he blasted a right footed shot from outside the box, but goalkeeper Andriy Lunin conceded a corner with a diving effort to keep the ball from going into the back of the net.

As the second half began, Real Madrid played long balls to midfielder Brahim Díaz and Vinicius, who did not miss their chances and increased their team's lead. In stoppage time, Muñoz scored the final goal of the day.

Osasuna will return after the international window to face Unión Deportiva Almería at Power House Stadium on Saturday, March 30, in Week 30 of LaLiga EA Sports. Kickoff is set for 4:15 p.m. CET.
