Moss and Osasuna join in a historic partnership to bring sustainability to the football world

Moss, a leader in climate technology, and Club Atlético Osasuna, a historic club in Spanish football, are pleased to announce an unprecedented partnership that will mark a milestone in sustainability in sports. Moss, known for its commitment to conserving the Brazilian Amazon and its leading carbon credit platform, is now Osasuna's official partner and ‘Global Sustainability Partner’. They will offset the club's carbon footprint during 2023 and help the club take concrete steps to reduce and offset the 2024 footprint and impact.

This exciting project contemplates the measurement and offsetting of all greenhouse gas emissions generated by Osasuna's administrative and sporting activities, covering its emblematic stadium, El Sadar - voted the best stadium in the world in 2021 - Tajonar Sports Complex, which will be renovated in the coming months, as well as the team's travels, and the club's water consumption. Moss will calculate the club's carbon inventory, using the highest standards, and neutralize these emissions through conservation carbon credits in the Brazilian Amazon.

In addition, Moss and Osasuna will also offer Osasuna fans the opportunity to purchase carbon credits to offset the carbon footprint of official club merchandise and even match tickets. Fans will be able to buy credits through the club's official App. Another commitment of the two parties is to make the community around the club, companies, and the people of Navarre more and more aware of the issue. To this end, they plan to jointly organize events and discuss its importance and how we can all contribute to building a more sustainable planet.

Moss and Osasuna are also committed to providing maximum transparency of their actions, disclosing inventory calculations and several carbon credits used in offsetting on their websites to serve as a positive and inspiring example in European football.

Luis Felipe Adaime, CEO and founder of Moss, highlighted the relevance of this partnership: "With this initiative, Osasuna becomes the first European club to support the conservation of the largest and most important forest in the world, the Amazon. Our commitment goes beyond offsetting emissions; it is a comprehensive sustainability plan that involves everyone, from the fans to the community of Pamplona and Navarra."

Osasuna anticipates future regulations and takes leadership in environmental sustainability in football to become a European benchmark in this area. Osasuna is innovating by taking a "360º" view of its environmental impact and involving its community to encourage more sustainable habits. Osasuna will also be the first European club to offset the footprint of its products, such as jerseys, on its website and App. In addition to carbon offsetting at the stadium and facilities, the club will make carbon credits available for its supporters to engage the community in such an important cause. As part of the partnership with Moss, Osasuna will promote events and connect Spanish companies and sponsors to learn more about environmental sustainability to raise awareness about reducing and offsetting their carbon footprints.

Club Atlético Osasuna president Luis Sabalza underlined the club's commitment to social and environmental causes, "We are a club who takes social responsibility seriously, and preserving the environment is part of that. This partnership with Moss will allow us to neutralize all our carbon emissions and thus be a pioneering club in Spain. We hope this alliance will encourage more and more clubs to follow our example."

Moss, which has been present in the market since March 2020, uses technology to normalize the carbon credit market and has developed conservation projects in the Amazon. Its innovation, via technology, artificial intelligence, and real-time forest monitoring via satellite, contributes directly to the conservation of trees in forest management projects in the Amazon and helps combat deforestation.

Adaime added, "The Amazon is a global treasure that faces critical conservation challenges. This partnership with Osasuna demonstrates that it can contribute practically and effectively to its preservation by purchasing carbon credits. The neutralization of the club's emissions will have a positive socio-environmental impact."
