Pamplona (Saturday, December 2, 2023) – Club Atlético Osasuna (4-3-8, 15 points) drew 1-1 to Real Sociedad (7-5-3, 26 points) at El Sadar on Saturday evening. Los rojillos took an early lead when midfielder Moi Gómez scored the opening goal in the second minute, but the txuri-urdin side tied the game late in the first half.

Osasuna took the lead in the second minute of the match when Gómez collected a pass from forward Ante Budimir and placed the ball in the top right corner and away from goalkeeper Álex Remiro. La Real Sociedad answered back quickly when forward Umar Sadiq took a right footed shot that goalkeeper Sergio Herrera saved. However, forward Ander Barrenetxea found the rebound and tried from the center of the box, but the rojillo backline blocked his attempt. Los rojillos tried to increase the lead before the half via midfielder Lucas Torró and Budimir, but Remiro and his men stopped them. In the 29th minute, Torró fired from outside the box, but the goalie stopped the ball. Seven minutes later, defender Johan Mojica sent a cross, finding the Croatian international, who headed the ball to a txuri-urdin wall. In the 41st minute, Sadiq received a pass from defender Igor Zubeldia and dribbled the ball before firing from 18 yards out and into the top left corner to level the score.

Real Sociedad led the game in possession in the second half, yet it didn't stop Osasuna from creating havoc. In the 56th minute, Gómez sought to score his second goal of the night when he blasted right footed shot from outside the box, but it went wide. In the 61st minute, Herrera made a double save when he denied midfielder Takefusa Kubo and Mikel Merino from finding the back of the net. The home side had one more opportunity as the game ended when forward Chimy Ávila found an empty net, but his shot from 35 yards out went off target.

Osasuna's next match will be against Cádiz Club de Fútbol at Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla on Sunday, December 10, at 6:30 p.m. CET (5:30 p.m. GMT/12:30 p.m. ET).
