'Osasuna-University of Navarra Campus' is created
Today, Club Atlético Osasuna president Luis Sabalza and University of Navarra president María Iraburu have signed a collaboration agreement for the creation of the "Osasuna-University of Navarra Campus".
This campus aims to offer activities and training courses in different areas such as sports management, health, health care, communication, technology, and education. The program will be progressively expanded, and both Osasuna and the University of Navarra hope this training will improve many students' professional performance and employability.
The courses, certified by the University of Navarra, will have different formats and durations depending on the topic.
Iraburu has expressed her satisfaction: "Osasuna and the University of Navarra have a long history of collaboration, through the health care of the team that provides our Clinic. Now we take another step in the academic field. With this agreement we want to promote, together with Osasuna, activities and training programs related to sports".
Sabalza expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration: "With the signing of this agreement, we leap into the academic world to train top-level professionals in the sports field. We do it with the help of one of the most prestigious university centers in the world, the University of Navarra. The union of our knowledge of the sports world and our passion with the experience and educational quality of the University of Navarra can only be a formula for success".
History of Collaboration
Osasuna and the University often collaborate on the development of young talent. For several years, undergraduate students have had the opportunity to train through professional internships at the rojillo entity. Students from the Faculty of Communication have been the most common, but those from Psychology and Pedagogy have recently benefited.
Other avenues of collaboration have been opened in training college students with more innovative projects this academic year, such as third-year architecture students preparing proposals for the construction of the new Tajonar sports complex. With the creation of the "Osasuna–University of Navarra Campus," these activities will be integrated into the agreement.
The agreement expands Osasuna's collaboration with the University of Navarra, whose medical center, the Clínica Universidad de Navarra, has been the official medical provider for the club since the 2016-17 season.
