Kike Barja

BIOGRAFÍA

Kike Barja

Enrique Barja Afonso (1 April 1997; Noáin, Navarra) is one of the last products from the prolific Tajonar quarry. He arrived at the youth categories of Osasuna when he was only eight years old and went up through the different teams until he reached the first team. Although his debut with the latter came at the Sánchez Pizjuán in May 2017, it was the following season when he became a member of the professional squad.

To do so, he had to stand out in the Academy where, from the position of left winger, he scored 8 goals in the 2016/17 season and 7 in the first part of the 2017/18 season, before settling in the team then coached by Diego Martínez. In his debut at El Sadar in January 2018, he scored a goal against Real Valladolid. He kept a leading role the following season with Jagoba Arrasate on the bench, playing 34 games in the campaign that saw Osasuna return to La Liga Santander.

Misfortune struck him in the preseason of the return to the top category, with a crossed-ligament injury. Noáin's attacker works to get back on the pitch and charm the reds' fans again with his speed and skill in unsettling opposing defences.
