Osasuna did not give up and managed to win with an agonising goal from Budimir (2-1)

Osasuna secured an important and hard-fought victory in a hard-fought match against Eibar. A goal from Budimir with four minutes to go gave Osasuna the three points after they had taken the lead in the first half thanks to a fine goal from Calleri. However, the Armeros equalised in one of the last exchanges of the first half. Jagoba Arrasate's men tried hard in the second half and had some good chances. In the end, after a cross from Roberto Torres and a header from Adrián, Budimir sent the ball into the back of the net to give the Navarrese side their second consecutive home win.

Rojillos and Armeros met in a match of vital importance for both sides. Both teams were looking to move away from the relegation places and the importance of the clash was palpable from the first moments of the game, although it was the Navarrese side who, as the minutes went by, imposed their game and were superior to the Gipuzkoans. As a result, Jagoba Arrasate's side took a good start to the game, Budimir had a chance that went wide. The Croatian, who won a long ball from Kike Barja, shot wide after a good manoeuvre to get away from his defender. Twenty minutes into the game, the goal was the reward. Rubén García played a back-heeled pass to Manu Sánchez, who won the backline. The full-back lifted his head and sent in a low cross for Calleri, who took aim and made no mistake. The Argentinian struck a precise shot that Dmitrovic could do nothing about.

With the score at 1-0, Jagoba Arrasate's side continued to execute their idea successfully and came close to a second goal just before the half-hour mark. Torró beat the defenders to a free-kick from the right, but his header was met by Dmitrovic, who kept out the home side's second goal. After that, Mendilibar's men stepped up a gear and took control of the game, although they came up against an Osasuna side that was well-positioned in their own half and well-drilled in defence. However, the Armeros' persistence brought about the equaliser after a defensive error on the part of the local team. Bryan chased down the ball and put it in front for Kike García, who, with a great finish, put the score at 1-1.

Budimir secured the three points in the 86th minute.
In the opening stages of the second half, neither side took control of the game and neither Osasuna nor Eibar were able to trouble either Sergio Herrera or Dmitrovic. As the half drew to a close, Jagoba Arrasate's side became more ambitious and began to threaten their opponents' goal. In the 69th minute, Calleri headed home Roberto Torres' cross, but the referee disallowed it for an illegal position. The Armeros responded with a volley from Muto from the edge of the area that went just wide of the base of the post. Despite the scare, the rojillos continued to press forward and, with ten minutes to go, came close to making it 2-1. However, Torres' fabulous shot from the edge of the area was met by a wonderful response from Dmitrovic, who deflected the ball wide. The ball hit the crossbar and fell back to Adrián, who was unable to get the ball into the net.

Despite the wasted chance, Jagoba Arrasate's men lived up to the song that says that "Osasuna never give up". And so it was. The Navarran side persisted until they got the reward they were looking for. Roberto Torres put in a ball from the right flank, Adrián extended it with a subtle turn of the neck and Budimir caught it at the far post. The Croatian shot and, despite his first attempt hitting the post, he chested the ball into the back of the net. It was the 86th minute and Osasuna was back in front with a 2-1 lead that, in the end, was definitive. In the closing stages of the game, the Osasunistas were at their best to deny Eibar, who were unable to trouble Sergio Herrera again. Osasuna now sits in fifteenth place on 22 points, two points clear of the relegation zone. Jagoba Arrasate's side next face Levante Unión Deportiva at the Ciutat de Valencia on Sunday 14 February at 18:30.
