Match
Day31 CA Osasuna - Valencia CF
The coach applauded the victory at the Ciutat de Valencia, insisting on the team's mental capacity to overcome the unfavourable circumstances at the start of the match.
After making it three out of three at the Levante field thanks to a narrow victory, Osasuna's coach, Jagoba Arrasate, appeared before the media to share his impressions of the match. The coach considered that the three points were "priceless." The victory, for him, meant "putting a lot of teams behind, practically reaching mid-table; but above all, putting us with twenty-five [points]. And more than that, the dynamic has changed, the team is now mentally very strong: we can overcome a bad start to the game and have a good second half. There are things that have changed and that make us more competitive, that's why we are scoring more points. I think the victory has a lot of positive things," he concluded.
Arrasate confessed that his team did not show their best version during the first part of the match, but they grew from defence to end up winning the match: "It wasn't a brilliant match, but we did a lot of things well, otherwise you don't win here. I think we were very good defensively. Until the penalty, we conceded very little with very generous work from everyone. And then the necessary fortune. Football is a state of mind: two months ago we would have lost this match for sure, but now the team feels confident to win. Even at halftime, we were talking about how we were not doing well but that we were going to be better in the second half. You have the feeling that Sergio can save a penalty."
Finally, the coach wanted to underline the importance of the bench, from where the pair of players that scored the only goal of the match came from: "Too much importance is given to the lineup, which it is, but in a match plan everything is important. Last week the changes were decisive and today too, we have to take advantage of that. We have almost everyone well and, if we get people back, we can put together a competitive eleven that will help us win the matches."
